Hello Again Everyone,
First off, I would like to take a moment and welcome the
new newsletter recipients including our new customers
and associates that are receiving our newsletter for the
first time. Welcome!
I know that it has been a while since my last newsletter
and I hope you forgive me for this one being so long,
but I have a lot of information that I wanted to pass on
to you. I have been extremely busy with a complete
redesign of our online store and restructuring of the
items to make it even easier for you to get around in
our store. I finally finished the biggest part of the
project and would like to invite you to stop by and
check it out at
http://www.ourknickknacks.com/. I appreciate any
feedback that will help me improve your online shopping
experience with us, so, please let me know what you
think.
Every now and again, as I am
talking to customers or prospects, I am asked questions
about our wrought iron products and our soy candles.
So, I thought I would focus this newsletter on some
information about them. Much of this information is
also available on our website.
Wrought Iron Products
Our Knickknacks
includes some of the finest
wrought iron home and garden decor that money can buy
and a great value for the money as well. The
workmanship on the wrought iron is exquisite and there
are 100s of items to choose from with design silhouettes
for nearly every kind of home and garden decor.
Our design silhouettes range
from Adirondack Chairs, to Horses, to Moose, to
decorative Heart designs and Light Houses all the way to
the Western Horseshoe. Oh, and we can’t forget the
Humming Bird! It IS, after all, our Logo.
Nena, our wrought iron specialist, gave me a Great Gift
Idea! She told me how her daughters just LOVE the Key
Holders and use them as hangers for their jewelry, hair
ribbons, scrunchies, etc. So, if you are looking for a
unique gift for a special young lady, check out our
Key
Holders.
What makes our wrought iron items unique is that they
have an environmentally friendly, black powder coating
that is sprayed on as a thin, dry plastic powder paint
to cover every exposed surface of the wrought iron. The
wrought iron item is then placed in an oven at a high
temperature which liquefies the paint to create a
gorgeous flat black finish that adds visual appeal to
your home or garden decor. This gives our wrought iron
products a protective
coating that can be compared to, say, the protective
coating on your laundry Washer and Dryer. The only time
you would have to worry about rust is if the coating
gets chipped off, which we haven’t see happen so far.
This is especially good news for the outdoor and garden
wrought iron decor that you purchase from us.
Now we do have wrought iron products that are naturally
rusted such as our
Rusted Garden Stakes and
Rusted Tripod Trellises, as well as, our
Natural-To-Rust Tripod Trellises. These items do
not have the protective coating because there are many
garden-savvy customers that like the charm that rusted
stakes and trellises give their gardens.
Soy Wax Candles
Our Knickknacks
also offers amazingly
fragrant, natural
Soy
Candles
and
Dipped Teddy Bear air
fresheners. The
Dipped Teddy Bears make a GREAT Gift Idea especially in
places where candles cannot be lit. And, when their
scent fades all you have to do is to lightly pass your
blow dryer over them to revive the scent. Now THAT’s a
Great Value for the money!
Michelle, our soy candle expert, mixes soy wax with rich
fragrances to produce our scented soy candles. When I
say amazingly fragrant, I mean that they smell exactly
like the fragrance on the label. My strawberry soy
candle makes you want to eat strawberries. Michelle
makes absolutely certain that if it says, for instance,
Hershey’s Chocolate, then it will smell so much like a
Hershey’s bar that you can almost taste it. (Disclaimer
– Please note that we would never advise eating the
candles.)
Soy candles are becoming more and more popular not only
because they burn much longer than paraffin candles but
also because they are created from a natural resource,
the soybean. Soy candles are made from soy wax, which
is hydrogenated soybean oil. Conventional paraffin
candles are petroleum based and produce "soot" <ick>
which is not the healthiest thing to breath if you think
about it.
Soy wax was invented in 1992 by Michael Richards who was
looking for a cheaper alternative to beeswax. As he
entered the candle industry in 1991 he realized there
was a growing demand for natural wax candles.
Here are some of the advantages that Soy candles have compared to
your conventional paraffin wax candles:
* Soy candles are cheap - Beeswax is a great
natural alternative to paraffin, but to get the same
results with beeswax as a soy-based candle, it is very
expensive. Soy wax is a new alternative to paraffin wax
that is cost effective.
* Soy wax is all-natural - Soy wax is a
favorite of environmentally conscious people, because it
is not made from petroleum like paraffin candles.
* Soy candles last longer - Soy Candles can
last over 50% longer than paraffin candles.
* Soy wax spills are easy to clean - It's
very difficult to remove paraffin wax from furniture or
textiles. Soy wax spills can easily be cleaned up with
hot soapy water.
* Soy candles produce less soot - Soot is
very unhealthy and should be avoided. Soy candles
produce about 90% less soot that paraffin candles and
thus help to maintain air quality.
* Scented soy candles distribute more fragrance
- The incorporation of soybean oil lowers the melting
point of the candle, which translates into cooler
burning candles and faster scent dispersion.
Thanks for reading my long newsletter. I promise the
next one will be much shorter.
We hope that your Holidays are wonderful ones and we
also hope that you Have a Great Day!
Best Regards,
Frank Verdusco
